Tauranga Girls’ College (TGC) the ‘School of Choice’ for Girls in the Bay is located in the city of Tauranga in the beautiful Bay of Plenty and offers an outstanding educational experience for its students. I came to Tauranga Girls’ College from Hanoi for a new learning experience. It was my first time from home. It was an exciting but very different experience from what I was used to. The International staff made me feel so welcome. They were always checking up to see if I was OK and needed anything. The way the teachers taught me was very different to what I was used to. All the students were encouraged to discuss their ideas with their friends and teachers. I found this hard at first but got braver as I got to understand the topics. The kiwi girls were friendly in my classes and they encouraged me to contribute to group work. My Homestay family were so lovely. They showed me around Tauranga and the Bay of Plenty and really made me feel part of the family. I have enjoyed my time so much at TGC that I hope my parents will allow me to come back for further study in the near future.
